Bit Face Shape Selection:

1. Drop Center Bit

Ideal for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard and fissured rock formations. Operates at low to medium air pressures with excellent hole deviation control.

2. Concave Face

An all-around bit face suitable for medium-hard and homogeneous rock formations, offering reliable hole deviation control and effective flushing capacity.

3. Convex Face

Designed for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock under low to medium air pressures. This face shape is highly resistant to steel wash, reducing load and wear on gauge buttons, though it may have poor hole deviation control.

4. Flat Face

This face shape is perfect for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations, particularly under high air pressures. It offers good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
