Bit Face Shape Selection:

1. Drop Center Bit: Ideal for high penetration rates in soft to medium hard and fissured rock formations. Provides maximum hole deviation control at low to medium air pressures.


2. Concave Face: Suitable for medium hard and homogeneous rock formations. Offers good hole deviation control and flushing capacity.


3. Convex Face: Provides high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard formations with low to medium air pressures. Resistant to steel wash but poor hole deviation control.


4. Flat Face: Designed for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations with high air pressures. Offers good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
