Bit Face Shape Selection:

1. Drop Center Bit

Ideal for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard and fissured rock formations, operating under low to medium air pressures. It offers maximum hole deviation control.

2. Concave Face

A versatile bit face suited for medium-hard and homogeneous rock formations. It provides excellent hole deviation control and efficient flushing capacity.

3. Convex Face

Designed for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock, this face performs best under low to medium air pressures. It offers high resistance to steel wash, reducing load and wear on gauge buttons, although it has poor hole deviation control.

4. Flat Face

This face shape is perfect for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations, particularly when high air pressures are used. It delivers excellent penetration rates and resists steel wash effectively.
