Bit Face Shape Selection:
1. Drop Center Bit
Ideal for achieving high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard and fissured rock formations under low to medium air pressures. Provides optimal control over hole deviation.
2. Concave Face
A versatile bit face suited for medium-hard and homogeneous rock formations. Offers excellent hole deviation control and efficient flushing capacity.
3. Convex Face
Designed for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock formations with low to medium air pressures. Highly resistant to steel wash, potentially reducing load and wear on gauge buttons, albeit with less control over hole deviation.
4. Flat Face
This face shape is perfect for drilling in hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations using high air pressures. It ensures good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
