Bit Face Shape Selection:
1. Drop Center Bit
Ideal for achieving high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard and fissured rock formations. Suited for low to medium air pressures, it provides excellent hole deviation control.
2. Concave Face
A versatile bit face designed for medium-hard, homogeneous rock formations. It offers reliable hole deviation control and efficient flushing capacity.
3. Convex Face
Designed for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock formations using low to medium air pressures. This shape is highly resistant to steel wash, potentially reducing wear on the gauge buttons, though it offers less control over hole deviation.
4. Flat Face
Best suited for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations under high air pressures. It ensures good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
