Bit Face Shape Selection:

1. Drop Center Bit

Ideal for achieving high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard fissured rock formations with low to medium air pressures. Offers superior hole deviation control.

2. Concave Face

Versatile bit face suited for medium-hard, homogeneous rock formations. Provides excellent hole deviation control and superior flushing capacity.

3. Convex Face

Designed for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock with low to medium air pressures. Notable for resistance to steel wash, reducing load and wear on gauge buttons, although it offers limited hole deviation control.

4. Flat Face

Ideal for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations, especially under high air pressures. Ensures good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
