Bit Face Shape Selection

 

1. Drop Center Bit: Designed for high penetration rates in soft to medium hard and fissured rock formations. Suitable for low to medium air pressures, providing maximum hole deviation control.


2. Concave Face: An all-around application bit face specifically designed for medium hard and homogeneous rock formations. Offers good hole deviation control and flushing capacity.


3. Convex Face: Ideal for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock formations with low to medium air pressures. Provides resistance to steel wash and reduces load and wear on gauge buttons, but may have poor hole deviation control.


4. Flat Face: Suitable for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations in applications with high air pressures. Offers good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
