Bit Face Shape Selection:
- Drop Center Bit: Ideal for soft to medium hard and fissured rock formations, offering high penetration rates and maximum hole deviation control at low to medium air pressures.
- Concave Face: Suitable for medium hard and homogeneous rock formations, providing good hole deviation control and flushing capacity.
- Convex Face: Designed for soft to medium-hard rock formations with low to medium air pressures, offering resistance to steel wash and reducing load and wear on gauge buttons. However, it may have poor hole deviation control.
- Flat Face: Perfect for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations, especially in applications with high air pressures. It provides good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
